Responsible Gambler

A responsible gambler stays in control and remembers that gambling is just a game not a way to make money or solve problems.

A responsible gambler sees gambling as just a bit of fun and doesn’t take it too seriously.

A responsible gambler:

Only gambles with money set aside for entertainment, never with money for rent, food or bills.

Never borrows money to gamble, either from family or friends, money set aside for other things or credit cards.

Sets limits on the amount of time and money they will spend.

Sticks to these limits and walks away when they are reached regardless of the outcome.

Recognises that you can’t win in the long run and doesn’t try to chase a win or a loss by gambling more.

Is relaxed and sociable – not overly serious about gambling or trying to win.

Is aware of the feelings of family and friends around them.

Doesn’t mind taking frequent breaks or leaving regardless of the outcome

The responsible gambler doesn’t let the game play them.
